NN-Open
NN-Open has the goal to stimulate and encourage use of open standards and open source software (in that order) in the north of the Netherlands. Founded in the summer of 2007 as an association to give it a legal form. The form of an association was chosen so that everyone can actually be part of NN-Open by becoming a member, which matches the Open Source and Free software mentality more then a normal non-profit organization.
As one of the founding- and boardmembers I put my focus on Open Source in the educational field. Starting with increasing the share of Open Source software in the educational programs (especially ICT related studies). So the schools can better match to the the increasing demand in Linux/FLOSS software expertise.
